Waylon watched her go with a smile. He didn’t even know if she realized just what a unique person she was. He couldn’t find a damned thing wrong with her, and he’d definitely tried.

He thought about his conversation with Laney regarding her mother. After hearing more about her mother, he wondered if her past experiences with her mom weren’t influencing her current perception. He feared that maybe she was allowing old hurts to cause more wounds. Hell, no one’s mother could be that bad, right?

He went back inside his place. He had work to do and songs to write. Picking up his guitar, he headed out for the deck.

As much as he liked it here on the lake, he missed home. He wanted to be sitting out on his own deck watching the sun rise and set. And to complicate matters even further, he wanted to share those scenes with Laney. He could wrap her in his arms and protect her from everything.

Well hell, he thought with disgust. He wasn’t even supposed to be thinking along those lines. He wasn’t a forever kind of man, but the thought of not seeing her smile was disheartening to him.

He changed thought patterns as quickly as possible. He wondered if his lawyer had made any headway with the lawsuit he was putting on his ex-lover. He really needed to get that taken care of before Laney found out who he really was.

He strummed a few chords, thinking of her last night in his arms. God, she was sweet and so very submissive. His cock hardened as he thought of her. There were so many things that he wanted to do with her and to her. Damn, all the things he could teach her!

He put the guitar down and picked up some paper he kept stored in a box on the table. All of a sudden, the words were flowing.
